Maybe this coming Friday? The weather is getting too hot for me. I'm used to it being a bit more chilled until late summer. Too bad I can't swim anymore.
The only upside to this weather is that my carapace glows in the dark from all this sun. I really hope it hasn't made you suffer as well.

I am sorry to hear that the weather has been taking its toll on you as well.
I fear the sun and I are in great disagreement, as I've been having to take my naps underground as of late.
Never did I ever begin to imagine finding the dank earth to be a comfort, but it stays surprisingly cool.
I do believe that scorpions enjoy burrowing as well, perhaps that might help?
Or we can simply take a mud bath at the spa.
Friday sounds wonderful.

I do have a nice couple of rooms under ground. I have considered having the work crew I hired to help me move my home closer to the city also build me a proper underground cellar or basement so I could hide from the heat.
Alas, I have to save money so I will not be doing that yet.
A mud bath would be lovely. I suppose we'll have to braid our hair up out of the way. Mine is getting long enough right now (especially when wet) that I don't want getting actual mud in it unless we're getting something extra done. Back in my world and time there used to be these short use mud and clay hair masks you'd work into your hair and scalp if there was heavy damage. It was supposed to help add back in protines and natural oils. Of course you had to wash it out after a bit!
I always thought it was messy. Thankfully, I never needed to try anything like that.
I just know that I've missed you. I was very busy with my new business. I didn't mean to break contact like I did. Things just got away from me.

Lucius' job is quite lucrative yet he does not really have a dire need for money.
As for myself, I work more to keep myself occupied, since our house is provided to us by the Devil's Nest.

As for a hair mask, there might have been similar treatments in Vathea, but I was never very attentive as to what they were.
I will try whatever you recommend this Friday.
How about I pick you up around 6PM? I can likely use a parasol to avoid the sun.

Dear Eridanus,
Thank you for the offer. I'm doing fine with funds I am just trying to stick to a reasonable budget. My bakery is turning a tidy profit right now. I also admit that sometimes when I'm bored I make someone tell me where they've hidden their assets before I kill them.
I lost my housemates. I am trying to put together funds to have builders move my home closer to Bavan. I get very lonely these days. It doesn't help I've been incredibly moody lately.
Hm! It sounds as if we should go all in. I could use more than a little pampering.
Your timing is perfect. The parts of my skin that's still very human tends to burn easily if I'm in the summer sun for too long. I'm looking forward to our outting now.

[And just like that, Friday rolls around. As promised, Eridanus arrives at the door of Annie's Lake Dala property right as his wristwatch strikes 6PM, where he raises his fist and knocks boldly on her door. He figures the short stroll to town would do them both good, with the still-warm summer evening clinging to the air.
He waits there until the door is answered, without a gift in hand for once; but when it finally does open, his smile splits all the wider at the sight of Annie's familiar face.]
Hello my dear, [he splays his arms wide for her to hug,] it has been far too long!

You're not wrong. I find in times like this, it's better to separate yourself from the source of your woes.

[ When Eridanus gets there he can see signs of builders who had been doing surveying fort her. There are neatly organized wooden stakes and a work table set up. They seem to be in the process of figuring out how to move the building as Annie wants. ]
Eridanus! [ Annie lights up. Her hair has gotten very long, so she has braided it up into a rather cute little crown snaking up the back of her head. There are thick curls that refuse to be tamed, so she has two thick spirals framing her face.
Between that and the comfortable tan summer dress Annie looks ready to go out and about. There is a shift in her as if the signs of being a frightened teenager are melting away into a young lady. However she still hugs him tight as if she really was one of his. Annie loves Eridanus and nothing has changed that. ]
I'm so glad you came. I missed being with you. Things.... Things have been so crazy lately. [ She lifts her face to offer him a small grin. ] I've been so busy I haven't even gone for a hair cut.

Ah, but, you are lovely as ever my dear. [He reaches, tucking stray golden curls behind her ear with the gentle backsides of his claws to get a good look at her. Even with the time spent apart, nothing seems to have changed with Annieโand for that, he's thankful.]
Shall we have some tea inside before we go? [He asks,] or shall you tell me what all you have been up to on the trip to the bathhouse?

[ Annie has had to work to tame her hair. She keeps thinking that she should get it bobbed to something more reasonable, but it's nice having something to play with. ]

[ She steps back to properly invite him in. Lately she has been very busy. She wonders what he will think of the subtle changes she is trying to make. Annie has been trying to be more honest with herself, which has led to some interesting changes. ]

[He unfurls his arms from his sides, planting one hand at Annie's back and rounding her towards the kitchen where they can enjoy some tea together.]
